About Tsavo West National Park

Located in Kenya’s coastal region, Tsavo West National Park boasts a range of unique wildlife including the large mammals, magnificent scenery and natural landmarks providing impressive safari experiences. The park can be visited throughout the year though it’s advisable to avoid March, April and May for being rain season in Kenya. When combined, Tsavo West and Tsavo East make one of the largest national parks in Africa and around the world.

Safaris and game drives remain the main activity in Tsavo West. However, unlike other major parks in Kenya, Tsavo West National Park is seldom visited. This means that you will have much of the park to yourself to explore this vast territory. It’s due to its immense size that game viewing is many times challenging to spot as wildlife is scattered over a huge piece of land making everything else an adventure.

Search for leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, black rhinos, elephants, giraffe, lesser kudus, lions and many more. Birdwatching is also exceptional while other important touristic features include Mzima springs, Shetani Lava flow and Lake Jipe.
