About Buffalo Springs National Reserve

Buffalo Springs National Reserve is part of a larger ecosystem that includes Samburu National Reserve to the north and Shaba National Reserve to the northeast. The reserve is located to the south of Ewaso Nyiro River, an essential water source that represents the lifeblood of this wilderness on the northern dry territory of Kenya. Named after an oasis of clear-fresh water springs, the park is in a diverse and scenic part of Kenya. There is no end to the list of wildlife you can see, things you can do and explore.

Rare nothern wildlife species including the Somali ostrich, grevy zebra, reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx and the gerenuk are found here. Other wildlife occassionaly seen are the leopard and cheetah.
