About Shimba Hills National Reserve

30 kilometres to the South West of Mombasa and only 15 kilometres from the famous Diani Beach in Kwale County is Shimba Hills National Reserve. It’s a lovely patch of forested ecosystems. Shimba Hills is considered one of the most diverse natural environment supporting more than 1000 plant species, more than 600 elephants, birds as well as other several species of wildlife including the rare and impressive sable antelope population. The park’s landscape is characterised by sharp slopes, steep valleys and the famous Sheldrick Falls.
